Overview: The role of a Tester is crucial to ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications. Testers play a key role in the software development lifecycle by identifying and reporting bugs, defects, and issues to enable the development team to make necessary improvements. They work closely with developers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure that software products meet the highest standards of quality and usability.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
  • Conduct exploratory testing to evaluate software performance
  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of testing strategies, methodologies, and frameworks
  • Execute automated testing scripts using testing software
  • Prepare reports on testing results and provide metrics for software quality assessment
  • Conduct compatibility tests with various environments
  • Manage and maintain testing environments
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and procedures
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve software usability and functionality
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a software tester or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with bug tracking systems such as Jira, Bugzilla, or similar tools
  • Proficiency in performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
