Job Title: Cybersecurity Project Manager
Job Description:
The Cybersecurity Project Manager is accountable for designing, implementing, and managing high-level cybersecurity projects with an emphasis on project management. This role focuses on coordinating projects related to technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM-Splunk), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR-Microsoft Defender), and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR Palo Alto XSOAR). The Project Manager ensures proper planning, execution, and delivery while collaborating with engineering teams, technical experts, business leaders, and stakeholders. Core responsibilities include defining project objectives, tracking progress, managing budgets, enhancing processes, and ensuring project allurement with organizational cybersecurity strategies and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduation/Post-graduation in Computers, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology Systems.
- 10+ years of project management experience in cybersecurity or information security, including at least 5+ years of leading technology project oversight.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Familiarity with SIEM solutions (eg. Splunk), EDR solutions (e.g. Microsoft Defender), and SOAR platforms (eg. Palo Alto XSOAR)
- Experience with Cybersecurity Framework and Risk Management Framework is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodology, including planning, execution, moratoring, and closure.
- Knowledge of banking business and cybersecurity trends in the financial sector.
Skills Required
Technical Skills:
- SIEM (Splunk):
-Lead projects for deploying, configuring, and upgrading Splunk Security solutions ensuring system resilience
-Coordinate efforts to integrate necessary data sources to enhance detection capabilities and alignment with organizational cybersecurity objectives.
- EDR (Microsoft Defender);
-Oversee the deployment and configuration of EDR solutions to ensure robust
endpoint threat detection, investigation, and response
-Collaborate with IT teams to implement effective polices for endpoint protection and visibility
- SOAR (Palo Alto XSOAR):
-Manage operational workflows for seamless integration between SOAR solutions and existing security platforms.
-Monitor and optimize automated threat response playbooks for efficient incident resolution.
- SOC Setup & Operations Management:
-Lead the planning, implementation, and operationalization of Security Operations Centers (SOC) in alignment with organizational needs.
-Oversee infrastructure, tool deployments (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, etc.), process definitions (incident response, monitoring, reporting), and staffing plans for SOC functionality.
-Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure SOC capabilities align with compliance requirements, business continuity needs, and threat detection objectives.
-Ensure SOC processes are documented comprehensively and optimized for scalability and performance.
- Project Management Skills:
-Expertise in utilizing project management methodologies, tools, and frameworks tailored to cybersecurity implementations
-Strong capabilities in defining scope, milestones, task dependencies, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
-Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders through regular progress reports on status, risks, and issues linked to projects involving SIEM, EDR, and SOAR systems
-Proven ability to lead project team across multiple departments and ensure adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address cross-team challenges and ensure alignment with broader organizational strategies.
