Job Responsibilities

The Product Group Lead ensures all employees work in a secure environment with clean data, actively participates in new M&A and partnership activities, delivers critical insights as part of our integrated strategy for customers and drives enterprise-wide adoption and change management for innovative tech & data solutions. Our work supports getting meaningful new medicines to patients faster, with greater positive impact. This role plays a critical role supporting and delivering against the enterprise roadmap.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the product and engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Lead a high-performing global team to support new and existing product development. Responsibilities include line management, performance management and professional development. Act as a mentor and support crossfunctionally for a collaborative and innovative approach with an enterprise mentality.

• Collaborate with functional leaders to develop user centered products. Work closely with designers, engineering, data science, product marketing, compliance, and others to understand timelines, priorities, and trade-offs.

• Leads, drives and provides approach for designing the end- to- end strategy for a product portfolio with knowledge of the users, our existing products and technology. Aligned to a domain/executive customer group inside of Syneos Health; the role will drive value including profitable growth for the enterprise through direct and indirect customer engagements. Align work to funded asks with strong justification; may include potential for commercialization.

• Understand and document customer and prospective customer needs, distill insights into actionable recommendations that can be added to the product roadmap and requirements to assigned engineering pods to prototype approved work. Work as one to deliver on time, on budget and with quality. Iterative process working as a technical team while engaging with the users.

• Conduct user research and gather product feedback to inform future product development and optimization of existing custom builds.

• Establish and monitor metrics and KPI's for each product line to ensure that growth strategies are effective or require optimization to achieve the desired outcome.

• Be a trusted advisor, developing relationships with senior business leaders and understanding their strategies, business plans, pain points, and priorities to inform the product/platform roadmap. Present ideas/low fidelity visuals to answer undeclared needs through active listening and strong ties to the business strategy in partnership with the technical strategist.

• Lead complex tactical and strategic decision-making regarding product functionality

• Oversee facilitation of brainstorming and ideation across business units and product teams. May define new processes and workflows to address highly integrated products and drive change management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field. An MBA is preferred.

• 10+ years of relevant product experience

• Experience working across multiple stakeholders to deliver results and translate needs/requirements while working with external customers. Experience managing high performing teams is a plus. Global experience is preferred. 

• Background in technology, product management and business management.

• Intensely curious and self-driven

• Strong analytical skills, data-driven and methodical

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

• The ability to identify and reduce friction in the user experience

• A passionate commitment to making an impact on product growth

• Ability to prioritize initiatives that will drive the most significant business impact

• Diplomacy to successfully work within a cross-functional team

• Familiarity with user design concepts and UX best practices

• Proven track record of owning the end to end of product lifecycle from ideation to delivery and beyond

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and feature concepts.

• Experience working across a broad/large organization with the ability to work cross-functionally to influence and support the business strategy

• Excellent communication skills to effectively make a compelling business case when prioritizing initiatives and developing experiments

• A deep knowledge of customers
