Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned and visionary Head of Production to lead and scale our Lehenga/Kurta division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving strategic production planning, quality excellence, and operational efficiency across the entire ethnic wear product line. The ideal candidate must bring deep technical expertise in garment construction, mastery over size charts and fits, strong design sensibilities, and a proven ability to bridge production with retail business needs.

Key Leadership Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Production Oversight

· Lead and oversee full-spectrum production operations—from concept development to final dispatch—for lehengas, kurtas, and associated ethnic wear categories.

· Develop long-term production strategies that align with brand vision, growth plans, and commercial objectives.

· Optimize capacity planning, workflow automation, and resource allocation to ensure scalability.

2. Retail Alignment & Business Coordination

· Act as the primary production liaison with all retail stores, ensuring seamless alignment on inventory planning, product mix, replenishments, and regional demand patterns.

· Translate store-level feedback and customer insights into actionable improvements in design, fit, and production processes.

· Ensure timely fulfilment of store requirements, special orders, and key product launches.

3. Design & Product Development Leadership

· Partner with the design leadership team to conceptualize and develop commercially strong, innovative ethnic wear collections.

· Provide expert guidance on construction feasibility, material selection, embroidery techniques, finishes, and sampling.

· Ensure that design aesthetics are preserved through production without compromising efficiency.

4. Fit, Sizing & Technical Excellence

· Own and continuously refine the size charts and fit standards for all lehenga and kurta categories.

· Oversee sample fittings, ensure accurate grading, and maintain uniformity of fit across all retail locations.

· Guide pattern makers and sampling teams with an authoritative understanding of garment engineering.

5. Vendor, Unit & Team Leadership

· Lead the management of in-house production units as well as outsourced vendors with strict adherence to quality, timeline, and compliance standards.

· Build, mentor, and evaluate the performance of cross-functional production teams, ensuring high productivity and skill development.

· Establish strong vendor partnerships to secure timely raw materials, trims, and embroidery support.

6. Quality Governance & Process Optimization

· Implement robust quality assurance frameworks across each stage of production.

· Drive initiatives to reduce defects, enhance consistency, and improve product longevity.

· Identify inefficiencies and introduce process improvements, SOPs, and best practices across the division.

7. Reporting & Senior Management Collaboration

· Provide comprehensive production reports, cost analyses, and performance dashboards to senior leadership.

· Participate in strategic planning meetings related to product launches, pricing, supply chain, and inventory control.

· Proactively flag production risks and propose data-backed solutions.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

· Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Textile Technology, or related fields.

· 10–15+ years of leadership experience in apparel production, with strong preference for ethnic wear expertise.

· Demonstrated ability to manage large production teams and multiple manufacturing units.

· Deep understanding of design aesthetics, technical construction, and ethnic wear craftsmanship.

· Strong command over size charts, grading, fits, and pattern-making principles.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

· Track record of delivering high-quality products within strict timelines and budgets.
