- Key responsibilities
- Documentation: Prepare and manage all necessary import documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Compliance: Ensure all documentation and processes comply with customs regulations and other trade laws.
- Coordination: Liaise with various parties such as freight forwarders, shipping lines, suppliers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth processing.
- Tracking: Monitor and track shipment status from origin to destination.
- Record-keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all import activities and transactions.
- Problem-solving: Address any issues that arise, such as delays or discrepancies in documentation. Required skills and qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in international business, logistics, or a related field is often preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with customs regulations, import/export procedures, and international trade terms (INCOTERMS) is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant software and MS Office is typically required.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills are critical.
- Accuracy: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation is crucial to avoid delays and penalties.
