Assistant Transport Manager

To assist in managing and optimizing the daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

• Transport Operations Management:

  Oversee daily transport schedules and routing to ensure timely deliveries. Monitor vehicle utilization and optimize fleet performance. Coordinate with drivers, vendors, and warehouse teams for smooth operations.

• Vendor & Fleet Coordination:

  Liaise with transport vendors for vehicle availability, service quality, and contract compliance. Maintain records of fleet maintenance, fuel usage, and driver performance.

• Compliance & Safety:

  Ensure adherence to transport regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections of vehicles and documentation.

• Cost Control & Budgeting:

  Assist in budgeting and cost analysis for transport operations. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

• Reporting & Documentation:

  Prepare daily/weekly/monthly transport reports and dashboards. Maintain accurate records of shipments, delays, incidents, and resolutions.

• Team Support:

  Support the Transport Manager in strategic planning and execution. Train and guide junior staff and drivers on operational procedures.

• 4–8 years of experience in transport/logistics operations.

• Strong knowledge of fleet management, routing software, and transport regulations.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office and transport management systems (TMS).

• Experience in handling large-scale transport operations.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
