Merchandiser (Apparel & Textiles)

We are looking for a Merchandiser (Apparel & Textiles) to lead the execution of our growing product portfolio, managing sampling and production across our in-house Delhi unit, artisan clusters (e.g., Banaras, Jaipur, Lucknow), and external manufacturers. This is a critical role that links design, sourcing, and fulfilment ensuring every product meets our standards of quality, traceability, and impact.

What Youll Do /Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Sourcing

• Manage complete product lifecycle from design development with the designer to bulk production.
• Sourcing of fabrics, trims, packaging materials, and accessories.
• Develop samples (Proto, Fit, PP, Size set, sealer samples) and ensure buyer approvals within timelines.
• Testing samples submission to labs, GPT and FPT.
• Approval from buyer for trims, fabric lots and strike off, material and samples.
• Collaborate with artisans and vendors for handcrafted, embroidered, and embellished garments.

2. Production & Supply Chain Management

• Prepare and monitor T&A (Time & Action) calendar to ensure on-time deliveries.
• PP file submission with details of shipment documents and sample.
• Oversee production, quality assurance, packing, and logistics coordination.
• Conduct floor visits for production monitoring and quality inspections.
• Handle shipment documentation, packing lists, invoicing, and logistics arrangements.

3. Costing & Vendor Management

• Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), cost sheets, and negotiate with vendors for best pricing.
• Maintain strong supplier/vendor relations to ensure timely sourcing and consistent quality.
• Implement eco-friendly and ethical sourcing practices.

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Coordinate with buyer QA teams for inspections and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with international standards in sustainable and ethical production.
• Monitor quality parameters at every stage sampling, bulk cutting, stitching, finishing, and packaging.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of garment production and sampling process- DRS, Proto, Fit, PPS, Size- set.
• Strong knowledge of type of fabric and process, woven, knits, outerwear, high-fashion garments, hand painting, hand embroidery, accessories, Adda work, khaka, fabric shrinkage process, shrinkage calculation, dyeing process, RFD, Non-RFD fabric base.
• Expertise in sustainable fabrics, trims.
• Have 4 to 6 years of experience in apparel or lifestyle product production/sourcing
• Grading and average calculation,
• Production marker and fabric lay outing, bulk stickering process, part changing and CMT calculation.
• Excellent vendor and supply chain management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with buyers, vendors, and artisans.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, T&A planning, and costing.

Preferred (Added Advantage)

• Experience with couture or artisanal brands.
• Knowledge of international fashion markets.
