Skylo's direct-to-device service is now live across four continents, with more than 50 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.

This role is located Bangalore, India where we are onsite 3 days a week in office. 

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

We are looking for a Staff QA Engineer with expertise in OSS/BSS (Operational Support Systems/Business Support Systems) to join our dynamic team in Bangalore, India. The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our OSS/BSS systems through comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications or related industries, with a deep understanding of architectures and protocols.

How You Will Contribute

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define testing strategies for BSS/OSS applications, considering factors such as system integration, scalability, and performance.
• Develop and execute test cases to verify functionality, performance, and reliability of OSS/BSS systems.
• Collaborate with system architects and integration teams to perform end-to-end testing of billing system integrations with other BSS/OSS components, third-party systems, and network elements.
• Validate data flows, interfaces, and data transformations to ensure seamless integration and data consistency across systems.
• Identify and report defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Automate test cases where applicable to improve efficiency and scalability of testing processes.
• Execute regression tests to validate the impact of system changes, upgrades, and patches on BSS/OSS and billing system functionalities and configurations.
• Conduct regression testing to validate fixes and enhancements.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in OSS/BSS testing methodologies.
  
  

What We Look For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in quality assurance/testing roles, with a focus on BSS/OSS systems in the telecommunications industry.
• Proficiency in testing OSS/BSS components, including but not limited to billing systems, provisioning systems, CRM systems, etc.
• Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test execution methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Appium, JMeter, TestNG, Robot Framework etc).
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous testing (CI/CT) practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Certifications in quality assurance/testing (e.g., ISTQB) and telecommunications (e.g., TMForum) are a plus.
