Job Description : We are seeking an experienced AWS Cost Optimization Specialist with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, AWS services, and expertise in cost management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing cloud resources, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing best practices in AWS environments. Additionally, the candidate should have solid knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and experience with CI/CD pipelines for automating resource deployment and management.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analyze AWS usage patterns and implement strategies to optimize cloud spending and resource utilization.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, and other AWS services using Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot Instances.
  • Monitor and optimize AWS billing by analyzing cost and usage reports, applying tagging strategies, and improving cost transparency.
  • Automate cloud resource provisioning and scaling using Terraform, ensuring efficient infrastructure management.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to integrate cost optimization best practices into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Review and optimize existing infrastructure architecture to ensure it aligns with business needs and budget constraints.
  • Continuously monitor the performance and cost of cloud services to maintain cost-efficient infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain documentation of cost optimization efforts, tagging policies, and resource management strategies.
  • Stay updated with AWS cost management tools and new services/features to leverage the latest cost optimization techniques.

Required Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services, focusing on cost optimization and resource management.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, CloudWatch, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automating resource management.
  • Familiarity with AWS pricing models (On-Demand, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot Instances) and the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Experience with cost optimization tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, or third-party solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud financial management practices, including cost tagging, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Some knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Github CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • AWS Certified (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar certification).
  • Experience with cost optimization tools.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to support automation efforts.
  • Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes for optimized resource scaling and cost management.
