Qualcomm Hardware Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and meet performance requirements.Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.Role Overview:As a Timing ECO CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing CAD flows and automation scripts for Timing ECO processes. This role involves close collaboration with Physical Design and EDA teams to ensure efficient timing closure and design convergence across multiple projects and technology nodes.Key Responsibilities:· Develop and support CAD flows for Timing ECO using industry-standard tools· Automate ECO generation, validation and reporting processes to improve efficiency· Collaborate with Physical Design teams to integrate ECO methodologies into PNR/Timing flows· Analyze timing and design state and provide debug support for ECO-related issues· Explore and implement ML-based solutions for predictive timing closure and flow optimization· Correlate Timing/RC across tools - sign‑off STA / ECO / PNR. Validate EDA tools and setup regressionPreferred Experience & Knowledge:· Strong STA (timing and constraints) fundamentals and hands-on experience with Primetime or Tempus· Preferred experience and knowledge of Timing ECO tools like Tweaker, PTECO, Tempus-ECO, Certus or PrimeClosure. Hands-on experience with tool commands and settings is a plus· Good understanding of CMOS basics, ASIC Physical Design flow.· Familiarity with PNR tools, DRC checks, placement rules and related file formats like LEF/DEF/SPEF/TECH_LEF· Familiarity with advanced STA concepts: MCMM, OCV/POCV/Moments, PBA vs GBA, CRPR, Crosstalk and derates Skills Required:· Strong automation skills are required for this role· Proficiency in scripting using either of the languages - Python, TCL, Perl, or Bash· Knowledge of ML basics is an added advantage· Good documentation and communication skillsExperience:· BE/B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in ECE/EE/CS (or equivalent)· –3 years of relevant experience in EDA/CAD, Physical Design or Timing Closure Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
