Job Summary

The Junior Sous Chef will assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards in line with Lulu Hypermarket's guidelines. The role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and maintaining consistency in taste and quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and food production.
  • Prepare, cook and present food as per standard recipes and quality expectations.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, portion, and presentation.
  • Supervise commis/assistant cooks and support team training.
  • Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and control food wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (FSSAI).
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients and dishes before serving.
  • Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong culinary knowledge and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a team.
  • Good understanding of food cost, wastage control, and menu planning.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Time management and ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar role (preferably retail/restaurant/hypermarket kitchen).
  • Experience in Indian, Continental, or Multi-cuisine dishes is an added advantage.

SALARY RANGE : ₹35000 -₹40000 (NEGOTIABLE)
