The Financial Analyst Intern will support the finance/investment team in delivering analysis, modelling, financial reporting and research. This is a hands-on role, offering exposure to real investment-analysis and corporate-finance activities. The ideal candidate has already completed CFA Level III (or equivalent) and is ready to apply advanced financial knowledge in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining financial models (e.g., valuation models, forecasting models, scenario analysis) to support investment decisions and corporate planning.
  • Support preparation of investment research reports, sector/industry analysis, benchmarking, competitor analysis and due-diligence support.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports, dashboards and KPI tracking for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting & variance-analysis processes.
  • Work with large data sets: collect, validate, analyse, clean, and summarise information to produce actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, strategy, risk) to gather inputs, challenge assumptions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain and improve documentation of analytical processes, models and reports.
  • Stay abreast of macroeconomic, market and industry developments and highlight potential impacts on the business/investment portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed CFA Level III (or the candidate has achieved Level III exam success).
  • Strong analytical skills and numerical proficiency; comfort working with large data sets and developing financial models.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with other analytical tools or software (e.g., Power BI, SQL, VBA, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, valuation methods (DCF, multiples), and industry/market fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present analysis in a clear, structured manner to senior stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, proactive, detail-oriented, strong organisational skills and ability to work under deadlines.
  • High integrity and comfort working with confidential information.
