We are looking for a Senior Component Engineer to fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Bangalore. Must be available to work on-site at our Bangalore office 5 days per week.

About the role:

  • Leading the identification and evaluation of appropriate electrical, electronic and mechanical components for use in our product designs.
  • Working with suppliers, purchasing staff, and product development engineers from a component selection until its approval.
  • Creating and maintaining parametric data to support component selection for design engineering.
  • Investigating alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving component quality and reliability.
  • Supporting change management with PCN/ECR/MCO/ECO reviews and approvals in our PLM System (Arena).
  • Maintaining the CoC (RoHS/REACH/etc.,) periodically for all the parts used in the Enphase products to ensure the environmental compliance.
  • Leading the component procurement and prototype PCBA assembly with local EMS vendors for engineering prototypes during product development.
  • Working with sourcing and manufacturing teams to ensure all the components meet DFM requirements and are setup flawlessly in the PLM for mass production.
  • Working with quality team to ensure specifications of all the components meet Enphase long term reliability requirements.
  • Own and lead component level qualification of new and alternative components by function and reliability with support of testing and reliability teams.

Who you are and what you bring:

  • B.E./ B.Tech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering and 5+ years of experience outside of university in Component Engineering.
  • Should have good Experience in dealing with components used in Power electronics, High speed and mixed signal electronic systems and electrical systems with wiring devices. Having experience with batteries and inverter systems like UPS is a huge plus.
  • Should be detail oriented and striving for accurate specifications and data keeping.
  • Ability to say NO with justifications when making approvals, both with internal stakeholder and with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Well-versed in communication with suppliers and negotiation on key component specifications against cost involved.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work with teams in India/China and the USA time zones.
  • Enthusiastic in working with fast-paced environment and resolving challenges.
  • Ability to learn and grow with additional skills and responsibilities like hardware testing and/or component PCB library creation or PCB layout is a plus.
