What's this role about?

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Technical Lead for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and the broader Marketing Cloud. In this pivotal role, you will be the cornerstone of our digital strategy, responsible for designing, architecting, and overseeing the implementation of robust, scalable, and integrated solutions. You will bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring our marketing technology stack operates as a cohesive and powerful engine.

Here's how you'll contribute:

You'll do this by:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of AEM front-end and back-end developers.
  • Assign tasks, manage technical deliverables, and ensure the team meets project timelines.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team environment.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce coding standards and best practices.

Technical Execution & Delivery:

  • Translate solution architectures (from the Technical Architect) into detailed technical tasks and implementation plans.
  • Design and develop robust, high-quality AEM components, templates, workflows, and services.
  • Implement complex AEM features, including multi-site management, personalization (AEM + Adobe Target), and headless deployments.
  • Hands-on development of core AEM functionality using Java, Sling, OSGi, and HTL (Sightly).

Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Project Managers to provide technical estimates, identify risks, and report on development progress.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, business analysts, and marketing teams to ensure technical feasibility and flawless implementation of designs.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the project team during the development phase.

Quality Assurance & Performance:

  • Implement and advocate for automated testing strategies (unit, integration).
  • Oversee the performance, security, and scalability of AEM applications during development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing Level 3 support when needed.
  • Ensure the team adheres to established CI/CD processes in AEM as a Cloud Service.

Integration & Best Practices:

  • Lead the integration of AEM with other Adobe Experience Cloud solutions (Adobe Analytics, Marketo Engage, Adobe Launch) and third-party systems.
  • Ensure the team follows modern front-end development practices and integrates seamlessly with AEM.

     

Core Skills:
  • Experience: 8+ years of overall software development experience with a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on AEM development (AEM At least 2+ year in a tech lead or senior developer role mentoring others.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Expert in AEM core technologies: Java, OSGi, Sling, JCR, and HTL (Sightly).
    • Strong experience in building AEM components, templates, dialogs, and workflows.
    • Proficient with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and client-side libraries like React or Angular).
    • Hands-on experience with AEM as a Cloud Service, including local development setup and Cloud Manager deployments.
    • Experience integrating AEM with other systems via RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Leadership & Soft Skills:
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire a development team.
    • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and non-technical stakeholders.
    • A commitment to high-quality software development and best practices.

       

Desired Skills:
  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) - AEM Developer or AEM Sites Architect.
  • Experience with headless CMS implementations using AEM Content Fragments and GraphQL.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices: Git, Maven, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Experience with other Adobe Marketing Cloud tools (Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies as a technical lead within a sprint team.
