Role Overview

As a member of the Production Hosting department at Signant Health, the Cloud Operation Engineer will collaborate with development, release, and application teams to install, configure, deploy, and manage infrastructure, application components, and services in customer environments to ensure they are highly available, scalable, and sustainable. You will also work with Apps Integration and the DevOps teams to identify and resolve issues and improve the overall Support Process.

Key Accountabilities/Decision Making & Influence

• Troubleshoot to identify root causes and work towards faster workarounds and resolution of reported issues.
• Quickly & effectively utilize existing tools and utilities to improve troubleshooting process in the long run.
• Ensure the stability and availability of Application operation components running on Public Clouds.
• Participate in a 24x5 rotational shift and weekend on-call to support production environments.
• Control infrastructure costs by continually looking for opportunities to right-size servers and services
• Respond to alerts of application instability by identifying the root cause and taking corrective action.

• Works with the Application Development teams to design platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings that run on cloud infrastructure.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
• Work on the Kanban process to support the team and manage customer requests and issues in a structured and organized manner.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

• 8+ years of experience in relevant roles.
• 5 years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS and Azure platforms.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Ansible Tower, etc.
• Hands-on experience in Linux and Windows server operating systems
• Good Knowledge in Container technologies and administration, such as Docker, ECS, EKS and AKS services, would be added advantage.
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and monitoring tools such as Nagios, Dynatrace and cloud Monitoring tools.
• Participates in a DevOps culture with a focus on cloud automation, such as continuous delivery, monitoring and alerting.
• Knowledge in Agile process and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Knowledge in Bash, Python and PowerShell scripting would be added advantage.
• Knowledge in database administration (PGSQL, MYSQL, Mango, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with keen attention to detail.

Certification

• It is good to have Azure Administrator Associate certification.
• It is good to have AWS SYSOPS Administrator certification.
• added advantage of having CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification
• Added advantages of having Terraform Associate certification.
