Cloud Operations Engineer (0-3 Years Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud infrastructure management and optimization

• Manage and maintain cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Implement and monitor infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Oversee system performance, scalability, and cost optimization across multiple cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to streamline operations.
• Identify and implement opportunities for operational process improvements and resource utilization.

Monitoring and incident Response

• Set up, configure, and manage monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus. (Any previous experience in setting up Application Monitoring using open-source tools is preferred.)
• Handle alerts, troubleshoot system issues, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through backups and failover processes.

Security and Compliance

• Enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, patch management, and encryption standards.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Security teams to maintain adherence to frameworks like CIS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Assist in periodic cloud security posture assessments and remediation activities.

Collaboration, documenting and Reporting

• Work closely with the DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth deployments and continuous integration.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of configurations, processes, and architecture changes.
• Participate in change management reviews.
• Track and report key metrics such as uptime, incidents, and infrastructure costs, and present insights to management.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking concepts, and IAM (Identity and Access Management).
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with logging and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Understanding of compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Familiarity with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools, cloud cost optimization, or FinOps practices.
• Previous experience in a cloud security or compliance-focused organization.
