About the team

The Funded Startups team is dedicated to winning all top venture capital backed startups in India. We achieve this by combining subject matter expertise with robust collaboration within the startup ecosystem. Our focus is on identifying and partnering with high-potential startups, assisting them in monetizing their products, scaling globally, and creating new revenue streams. You have the opportunity to sell the entire suite of Stripe products and run the full sales cycle through onboarding.

What youll do

In this role you will create partnerships between Stripe and founders of the most innovative and fastest-growing funded startups in India by helping them to understand how Stripes financial infrastructure and solutions can support their growth ambitions and create a competitive advantage for their businesses. As an Account Executive on the Funded Startups team, youll identify new opportunities for startups to get the most out of Stripes growing products suite by thoroughly understanding their needs and advising them on how to leverage market-leading financial solutions to their own advantage. You will create and drive campaigns to build new sales pipelines and work with our users on increasing their Stripe adoption.

Responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for funded startups.
• Identify high-potential prospective users from inbound and outbound leads.
• Lead and contribute to India team projects to develop and refine our sales strategies and processes to accelerate the number of new startups joining Stripe, including engaging with Accelerators and VC firms.
• Engage with Product, Marketing and User Operations teams to help amplify our growth trajectory.

You are solution-oriented, adaptable, have a keen interest in further developing yourself, and know how to get things done. You enjoy a highly-technical sales cycle and working with a diverse group of internal stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

• 2 years of Sales or Business Development, preferably at a high-growth SaaS company, bank, consultancy or venture capital firm, with a track record of top performance.
• Strong interest in technology and the startup ecosystem.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities including comfort with basic modeling.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand different business models and build great relationships with highly technical founders.
• Ability to understand complex requirements and craft custom solutions.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Excel.

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50 PERCENT of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80 PERCENT in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100 PERCENT from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
