We are hiring on behalf of our client, a prominent, ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer based in Hyderabad. Our client specializes in heavy road construction machinery and is recognized as a pioneer in the region for producing a wide range of equipment, including asphalt mixing plants, concrete batching plants, and other machinery essential for large-scale infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a Senior Purchase Manager to join their team.

Location: Hyderabad

Department: Supply Chain Management / Procurement

Experience Required: Minimum 10 years in Procurement, preferably in the heavy engineering, construction equipment, or manufacturing industry.

Salary Range: 60, ,000 per month

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchase Manager to lead our client's procurement department. This strategic role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing a robust vendor network, and ensuring the timely, cost-effective procurement of raw materials, components, and services essential for heavy machinery manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be a skilled negotiator with strong leadership abilities and a background in engineering or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement plans to align with production schedules and business goals.
• Lead complex negotiations with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms, optimal pricing, and high-quality standards.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process (procure-to-pay), from PO generation to delivery, ensuring full compliance with company policies.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and components, implementing strategies to optimize stock and minimize carrying costs.
• Source, evaluate, and manage a reliable network of vendors, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the purchase department team, setting clear objectives and monitoring performance.
• Conduct market analysis and prepare detailed reports to identify cost-saving opportunities, market trends, and supply chain risks.
• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to industry regulations, compliance standards, and internal quality controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (An MBA is a strong advantage).
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in procurement or sourcing, with significant experience in the manufacturing, construction, or engineering industries.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of inventory control and modern procurement processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
• Familiarity with compliance, reporting, and quality standards related to heavy equipment manufacturing.
• Proficiency in procurement software (ERP/SAP) and Microsoft Office tools.
