Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Compensation and benefits person who is well versed on payroll & statutory Compliance, manage payroll operations with a strong focus on minimum wage compliance, legal and statutory norms (ESI, PF), and salary structuring across multiple business units and states. The ideal candidate will ensure all payroll calculations are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with evolving statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Minimum Wages Compliance

  2. Conduct monthly minimum wage validations for all employees, ensuring compliance with the latest state government notifications and revising CTCs as required.

  3. Prepare and share minimum wage working sheets for approval and update revised CTCs on the portal for impacted employees
  4. Communicate changes and impacts to business teams and update relevant HR systems accordingly

  5. Payroll Management

  6. Oversee end-to-end payroll activities, including salary register validations, arrears calculations (manual/system-based), and payroll authorizations

  7. Validate and update compensation for new joiners, conversions (PT/FT & FT/PT), and transfers before payroll processing
  8. Ensure accurate and timely payroll closure, including first and second cut validations and rectification of negative arrears

  9. Statutory Compliance (ESI, PF, Bonus)

  10. Ensure monthly statutory bonus validations and compliance with the Bonus Act, including calculations based on minimum wage, basic salary, and statutory caps

  11. Adjust statutory bonus payouts as required, ensuring no impact on net take-home or CTC, and update payroll structures accordingly
  12. Monitor and ensure compliance with all PF and ESI regulations across business units, including timely remittance and accurate employee coverage

  13. Salary Structure Management

  14. Maintain and update salary structures for different business verticals, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies

  15. Handle salary refitment and restructuring requests for manpower and SLA-based employees, including approvals and system updates
  16. Generate and upload statutory and salary-related letters (increment, transfer, promotion, revision) as required

  17. Compensation and Benefits:

  18. Calculate Annual Budget for increments and performance process

  19. Perform merit increment cycle
  20. Perform Variable pay bonus and calculations
  21. Letter generation process

  22. Reporting & Documentation

  23. Prepare and share monthly billing inputs, CTC reports, and compliance documentation with finance and business teams

  24. Respond to ad hoc requests for payroll and compliance data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian statutory laws related to minimum wages, ESI, PF, and statutory bonus across multiple states
  • Proven experience in payroll management and statutory compliance in a multi business or multi-location environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for payroll validation and compliance checks
  • Proficiency with HRMS/payroll systems and Excel for data management and reporting
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred -

  • Experience managing payroll for 10,000+ employees.
  • Experience with large-scale payroll operations and statutory audits.
  • Familiarity with salary structuring for diverse business verticals and client-specific requirements.

This role is critical for ensuring our payroll practices are not only timely and accurate but also fully compliant with all legal and statutory obligations across the organization
