Description Of The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
QA Engineer
with experience in
Set-Top Box (STB)
testing and OTT platforms. You will be responsible for designing and executing manual and automated test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable media streaming solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for STB and OTT applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and compatibility testing on STBs and connected devices.
  • Validate video playback, EPG, UI, network connectivity, and DRM functionalities.
  • Identify, track, and document software defects using test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and release teams to define and execute test strategies.
  • Conduct log analysis on Linux-based environments and validate streaming protocols (HLS, DASH, MPEG).
  • Participate in sprint planning and release validation, ensuring quality deliverables within timelines.
  • Continuously improve test coverage, automation, and QA processes to enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–4 years of experience in software testing and QA, with at least 2 years in STB/OTT domain.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Good knowledge of Linux commands, log analysis, and basic networking.
  • Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python or Java is a plus.
  • Familiarity with video streaming protocols, DRM, codecs, and playback validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.
