Job Title: Biomedical Engineer
Department: Biomedical / Clinical Engineering
Job Summary:
The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment. The role ensures that all biomedical devices function safely, effectively, and in compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and calibrate biomedical equipment.
- Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance of medical devices.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment service, repair, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Provide technical support to doctors, nurses, and other staff regarding equipment usage.
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for service contracts, spare parts, and upgrades.
- Conduct training sessions for clinical staff on proper equipment handling.
- Participate in planning and procurement of new biomedical devices.
- Support hospital audits and inspections related to biomedical equipment.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of medical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, OT equipment, imaging systems, dialysis machines, etc.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and healthcare compliance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
