Microsoft 365 Senior Tenant-Level Administrator (GCC / Enterprise / Commercial)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tenant Administration & Governance

• Manage the full Microsoft 365 tenant lifecycle user provisioning, policy management, and service optimization.
• Configure global tenant settings, update channels, and feature rollouts according to organizational policy or GCC timelines.
• Implement governance frameworks for identity, access, data sharing, and compliance.
• Manage licenses, subscriptions, and role-based access controls (RBAC).
• Maintain documentation of tenant configurations, policies, and operational procedures.

2. Identity & Access Management (Entra ID / Azure AD)

• Administer hybrid identity (Entra Connect / Cloud Sync) and single sign-on (SSO).
• Implement Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust security policies.
• Monitor sign-in logs, risk events, and authentication methods for anomalies.
• Manage privileged access through Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

3. Exchange Online

• Configure mail flow, connectors, transport rules, and anti-spam/anti-malware policies.
• Plan and execute mailbox migrations from on-premises or hosted Exchange environments.
• Implement retention, archive, and litigation hold policies.
• Manage shared mailboxes, resource mailboxes, and distribution lists.

4. SharePoint Online & OneDrive

• Design and manage site collections, permissions, and external sharing controls.
• Support data migrations from legacy systems or file servers.
• Implement retention labels, sensitivity labels, and DLP policies for content protection.
• Govern collaboration in compliance with internal or government data policies.

5. Microsoft Teams

• Configure organization-wide Teams policies for meetings, messaging, and apps.
• Manage lifecycle, compliance, and integration with SharePoint and Exchange.
• Enforce external access, guest collaboration, and retention policies.

6. Intune / Endpoint Management

• Configure device enrollment, compliance, and protection baselines.
• Manage application deployment and device security through Intune MDM/MAM.
• Integrate Intune with Microsoft Defender and Conditional Access policies.

7. Security & Compliance

• Manage Microsoft Purview (DLP, eDiscovery, retention, labeling, and auditing).
• Monitor and respond to alerts through Microsoft 365 Defender and Security Center.
• Conduct periodic security assessments and compliance posture reviews.
• In GCC environments, ensure alignment with FedRAMP, CJIS, IRS 1075, CMMC, and NIST standards.

8. Automation & Reporting

• Use PowerShell and Graph API for automation, bulk operations, and reporting.
• Generate dashboards for usage, compliance, licensing, and security insights.
• Automate tenant monitoring, alerting, and user lifecycle management.

9. Collaboration & Support

• Serve as the Tier-3 escalation points for Microsoft 365 incidents.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and compliance teams.
• Liaise with Microsoft Support (Commercial or Government) for escalations.
• Train and mentor junior administrators or support engineers.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 tenant(s).
• Expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Purview, Defender, and Zero Trust principles.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with hybrid identity, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of government compliance standards (FedRAMP, CMMC, CJIS, NIST) is a plus.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
