Job Description :

The Senior Associate - Housekeeping plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the property. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing daily housekeeping duties while ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness are met in all areas of the facility. The Senior Associate is expected to mentor and guide junior staff, ensuring smooth operations and consistent delivery of excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning & Maintenance:

    • Perform a wide range of cleaning duties, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and polishing designated areas (rooms, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, etc.).

    • Ensure rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned to company standards and guest satisfaction levels.

    • Replenish supplies (soap, toilet paper, towels, etc.) and report any maintenance issues promptly.

    • Ensure the cleaning equipment is used properly and maintained in good working condition.

  • Supervision & Training:

    • Assist in training and mentoring junior housekeeping staff on housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, and safety protocols.

    • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager in overseeing the team's day-to-day operations.

    • Monitor the work of junior staff to ensure it aligns with company standards and quality expectations.

  • Guest Satisfaction:

    • Address guest requests, questions, and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction with room cleanliness and service.

    • Report any guest feedback and work with the team to resolve any issues.

  • Inventory & Supplies Management:

    • Ensure the proper storage and use of cleaning materials and supplies.

    • Track inventory and report low stock levels to management.

    • Assist in managing and organizing housekeeping storage areas.

  • Health & Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to all safety and cleanliness standards, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals and cleaning supplies.

    • Ensure that all work areas are free of hazards and comply with OSHA and other safety regulations.

  • Other Duties as Assigned:

    • Assist with special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning, floor polishing, or seasonal cleaning tasks.

    • Perform additional housekeeping duties as requested by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications in hospitality is a plus.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior role.

  • Proven experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety protocols.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with housekeeping management software or point-of-sale systems.

  • First Aid or CPR certification is a plus.

  • Knowledge of eco-friendly cleaning practices and green certifications.

Work Environment:

  • The position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and dust is possible.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
