About the Role

Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd is seeking a passionate and motivated Software Engineer Trainee to join our R&D Automation Team. This role is ideal for candidates who aspire to build strong technical expertise in industrial automation, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and testing of automation software for industrial machinery.
  • Work on PLC programming, debugging, simulation, and on-machine trials.
  • Support design and development of HMI/SCADA screens and automation logic.
  • Create and maintain technical documents, including wiring diagrams, BOMs, datasheets, and project reports.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers for R&D activities, system improvements, and new feature development.
  • Provide engineering support for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated systems (as required).

Essential Skills & Technical Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with PLC Programming – preferably CODESYS.
  • Strong knowledge of Ladder Logic and basic automation concepts.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD / E-Plan for electrical schematics (preferred).
  • Ability to create Datasheets, BOM (Bill of Materials), and wiring documentation.
  • Experience with HMI & SCADA development, preferably ZENON SCADA.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, drives, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills

  • Strong learning aptitude and eagerness to work in industrial automation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle tasks responsibly with attention to detail.
