Job Title Consultant (Transfusion Medicine)

Department Blood Bank

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

  • To supervise standardized & perform all tests related to Blood Bank.
  • To interpret all tests results performed in Blood Bank and arrive at a diagnosis in correlation with the clinical findings.
  • To give advice additional laboratory test required to arrive at the diagnosis.
  • To perform procedure for bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsies.
  • To give blood transfusion consultants for therapeutic uses of blood and blood products.
  • Planning, budgeting and coordination of Blood Bank activities of all the departments.
  • Coordination of Quality Assurance and Accreditation programmers.
  • To demonstrate effective application of technical & professional knowledge.
  • Filling out all paperwork involved in each process.
  • To keep updated with latest research & treatment techniques in the field of Transfusion Medicine.
  • To attend emergencies as per institutions protocol and to ensure the department is suitably equipped at all times.
  • To supervise & train all technical assistants of the department.
  • To ensure cost effectiveness of the operation of the department.
  • To be well groomed, punctual & adhere to company policies and practices.
