Sale of Retail/Wholesale Solar Equipment'sEPC (Engineering, procurement, Commissioning) for Solar Projects/Solutions (turnkey Solutions)IPP (Independent power producers/ developer of projects as investor cum developer)Job Location : Gaborone, Botswana, AfricaJob Summary: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver ground-mounted solar power projects from inception to commissioning, including substation integration. The ideal candidate will manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards. This role requires close coordination with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities to achieve project success.

Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Execution:Lead the end-to-end management of ground-mounted / rooftop solar power projects—from feasibility studies through to commissioning and substation handover. Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Ensure on-time execution by adhering to engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) schedules. Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and quality.2. Technical & Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all projects comply with national and international standards for solar power systems.

Monitor site activities to uphold safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into project workflows.3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with EPC contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure timely procurement and execution.

Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards. Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, regulators, and internal teams to align with project objectives.4. Construction & Site Supervision:Supervise on-site construction, ensuring proper installation of solar panels, inverters, transformers, and related infrastructure.

Conduct regular site inspections to track progress and promptly resolve any technical challenges. Ensure the preparation and submission of required documentation (e.g., Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and compliance records).5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover:Manage the testing, commissioning, and grid synchronization processes.

Ensure all punch list items are addressed before project handover. Provide post-installation support and oversee performance monitoring to ensure system efficiency. Skills & Competencies:Deep technical knowledge of solar PV systems and ground-mounted installation processes.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent software). Strong understanding of electrical system design, power evacuation, and substation integration. Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to manage both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience managing large-scale (MW-level) solar power projects is highly desirable.

RequirementsHave min. 5 years working in Solar PV Systems. Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical EngineeringFamiliar with tender documents

Familiar Design tools like PVsyst, Helioscope and AutoCADGreat Understanding of MS. OfficeAble to read electrical engineering drawings

Proficient in English, both written and spoken

Valid 4 wheel Driving License.Valid passport to travel if required.Preferred traits
