Electrical Design Engineer - Solar PV Systems Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting, and preparing technical documentation for solar PV projects.

The role involves working on various aspects of solar PV system design, including electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), cable sizing, earthing, and protection schemes. The candidate should have a strong understanding of IEC/IS standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical layouts and SLDs for solar PV systems.
  • Perform solar PV yield assessments and simulations using PVsyst/PV Sketch/Helioscope.
  • Support the proposal team with technical inputs for bids, tenders, and RFPs.
  • Coordinate with procurement for BOM preparation and technical specifications.
  • Generate construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards and project specifications.
  • Provide design support to site execution teams and resolve technical queries.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, designs, and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in Solar PV System design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D), PVsyst, and MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and prepare detailed electrical drawings and SLDs.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and codes (IEC/IS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
