Building Material Procurement Executive

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Source and procure building materials as per project requirements.
  • Identify reliable vendors, request quotations, and negotiate competitive pricing.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on quality, delivery timelines, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain approved vendor lists and build long-term supplier relationships.

2. Purchase Management

  • Raise purchase orders (POs), track order status, and follow up for timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with site teams to understand material requirements and demand forecasting.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of inventory to avoid project delays.

3. Material Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure materials meet quality, specification, and safety standards.
  • Work closely with quality and engineering teams for inspection and verification.
  • Maintain documentation related to procurement, agreements, and compliance.

4. Logistics & Coordination

  • Coordinate with logistics teams for transportation and timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor shipping, dispatches, and vendor-side timelines to avoid discrepancies.
  • Resolve delivery, quantity, or quality-related issues with vendors.

5. Cost Control & Reporting

  • Maintain cost sheets and track procurement expenses.
  • Assist in budgeting, rate analysis, and cost optimization.
  • Prepare procurement reports, vendor performance analysis, and material status updates.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in building material procurement or construction supply chain.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, market rates, and supplier network.
  • Experience in vendor management, negotiation, and purchase operations.
  • Knowledge of material specifications, logistics coordination, and inventory basics.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, purchase software/ERP tools.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
