Overview

The position of Data & Price Analyst (GeM Marketplace Monitoring) has been created to strengthen

oversight of pricing practices and ensure fairness and compliance within the Government e-

Marketplace (GeM). The selected resources will be responsible for conducting systematic price

comparisons of listed products across major e-commerce portals, identifying discrepancies, and

supporting data-driven corrective actions. The role demands basic computer proficiency, familiarity

with web portals and Excel, and the ability to utilize AI tools for efficient data collection and analysis.

Initially, three third-party resources will be engaged on an immediate basis to support this initiative.

The job holder may be used in other assignments of GeM as well, whenever required, on the directions of CEO, GeM.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular price comparisons between GeM-listed items and other e-commerce portals to identify pricing anomalies or irregularities.
  • Collate, maintain, and update comparative pricing data in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Use AI and automation tools to streamline data extraction and analysis processes.
  • Prepare summary reports highlighting inconsistencies or potential overpricing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for verification and corrective action.
  • Assist in preparing MIS reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all vendor and product data reviewed.

Education Experience and Skills

Graduation:B.E/B.Tech./Equivalent

Desirable:

Post-Graduation:M. Tech. / MCA /

MBA/Equivalent

  • At least 1+ years of experience in data collection, online research, or marketplace analysis preferably in IT/Electronic/Electrical products..
  • Experience or exposure to Government e-Marketplace (GeM) or other e- commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Indiamart, etc. preferred.
  • Ability to compare, collate, and analyse product pricing trends across portals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Gemini, Copilot).

Other Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel functions, formulas, and basic data visualization.
  • Good written and verbal communication skill.
  • Ability to work independently and meet short deadlines.
