About the Role

We are seeking a skilled
Construction Manager
to oversee and manage transmission line and substation projects for OPTCL. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The candidate should have hands-on experience in EPC projects, site execution, and strong leadership skills to manage teams and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities for
    220kV transmission lines, switchyard, and substation bays
    .
  • Oversee
    piling, foundation, stringing, and erection works
    at site.
  • Prepare project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to resolve site issues.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and labor teams for smooth project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, review drawings, and verify construction quality.
  • Prepare and submit site progress reports, checklists, and documentation.
  • Monitor budget utilization and support cost control initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders and site team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in
    Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering
    or related field.
  • Minimum
    3+ years of relevant experience
    in construction, preferably in
    power transmission, substations, or EPC projects
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    220kV/440kV switchyard, transmission line works (piling, bay, stringing, foundation, erection)
    .
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera, AutoCAD, and MS Office is desirable.
  • Ability to work at project sites across Odisha.
