Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Apparel Designer to join our dynamic design team. The Apparel Designer will be responsible for creating original and commercially viable designs that align with market trends, customer requirements, and the company's overall design strategy. This role involves the entire design process, from initial concept development and sketching to technical specifications and sample coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Trend Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on current and emerging fashion trends, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes through various sources, including fashion publications, trade shows.
  • Conceptualization : Develop creative and innovative design concepts based on customer briefs, create detailed sketches, illustrations, and mood boards to communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Technical Design and Specification: Translate design concepts into detailed technical packages, including garment specifications, construction details, measurements, and material requirements.
  • Fabric and Trim Selection: Research and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments that meet design aesthetics, quality standards, and cost targets. Collaborate with sourcing teams to identify suitable suppliers.
  • Sample Development and Coordination: Work closely with pattern makers and sample room personnel to oversee the creation of samples.
  • Presentations: Prepare design presentations and present design concepts to clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience as an Apparel Designer, preferably within an export house.
  • Excellent sketching and illustration skills, both manual and digital (proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential).
  • Solid knowledge of fabrics, trims, and their properties.
  • Keen eye for detail, color, and aesthetics.
  • Familiarity with international fashion markets and customer requirements.
