SAP HANA Basis Job DescriptionOverview The SAP HANA Basis Consultant plays a crucial role within the IT department of our organization, responsible for the administration, maintenance, and management of SAP HANA databases and systems. As businesses increasingly depend on data-driven decisions, the SAP HANA Basis Consultant ensures that the HANA environment is optimized, secure, and functioning at peak efficiency. This position is critical for guaranteeing high availability and performance of SAP solutions, which in turn supports business continuity and operational success. The professional will closely work with other IT teams to facilitate smooth SAP operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide insights for system improvements. Hence, the SAP HANA Basis Consultant not only serves as a systems administrator but also acts as a strategic partner in leveraging SAP to achieve organizational objectives.Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and manage SAP HANA databases.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and migrations as necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize configurations.
  • Conduct regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.
  • Manage user permissions and security roles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues swiftly.
  • Implement transport management for system changes.
  • Work with monitoring tools to ensure system uptime.
  • Support integration with other SAP modules and third-party applications.
  • Document processes, configurations, and system architecture.
  • Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide support for development and testing environments.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for disaster recovery planning.
  • Stay updated on SAP HANA advancements and best practices.
  • Assist in capacity planning and scaling of resources.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum2-7 years of experience in SAP HANA Basis administration.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and management.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with backup and recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP transport management and user role management.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in SAP environments.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and migration strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant SAP certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in performance monitoring tools such as HANA Studio.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database scripting.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices is a plus.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
