We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Collection Manager with 1 to 4 years of experience in managing collections for Home Loans and Mortgage Loans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving the recovery process while maintaining a strong customer relationship and ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.

You will play a critical role in reducing delinquency, maximizing recovery, and maintaining a healthy loan portfolio. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, along with a firm understanding of collection strategies specific to secured lending products like home loans and mortgages.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end collections process for home loan and mortgage loan portfolios.
  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and proactively contact defaulters to secure timely repayments.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups through calls, emails, field visits (if required), and legal notices.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts and devise strategies to reduce non-performing assets (NPAs).
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of collections, interactions, and repayment status.
  • Collaborate with legal teams for initiating recovery processes through legal means when necessary.
  • Maintain a balance between client relationship management and achieving recovery targets.
  • Coordinate with credit, operations, and sales teams to understand borrower profiles and loan history.
  • Identify early warning signals (EWS) to minimize risk and prevent default.
  • Provide timely MIS and collection reports to management on the performance of delinquent accounts.
  • Ensure strict compliance with RBI norms and internal risk and audit guidelines during the collection process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in loan collections, specifically with home loans or mortgage loans.
  • Strong understanding of collection lifecycle and legal recovery mechanisms for secured loans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage field collection agents and external recovery partners.
  • Proficient in using collection tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on recovery performance and risk mitigation.
  • Familiarity with housing finance company operations and NBFC guidelines is an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Traits:

  • Experience in working with banks, NBFCs, or housing finance companies.
  • Knowledge of local markets and customer behavior related to home financing.
  • Comfortable with field visits (as needed) and managing recovery escalations.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and tact.
