Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Laboratory Technician with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the Hematology department, to join our NABL-accredited laboratory located in Howrah. The candidate must be comfortable with rotational shifts and have a strong understanding of quality control protocols as per NABL standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician looking to grow in a high-quality diagnostic environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine and specialized hematology tests (CBC, ESR, coagulation studies, etc.)
- Operate and maintain hematology analyzers and related instruments.
- Ensure daily quality control procedures are followed and documented as per NABL guidelines.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
- Handle biological samples with precision and care.
- Maintain accurate records and update reports in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
- Collaborate with pathologists and other lab staff for timely and accurate reporting.
- Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and regulatory protocols in the lab.
- Participate in audit preparedness and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Flexibly work in rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays as per duty schedule.
- DMLT/BMLT/M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the Hematology department.
- Familiarity with NABL accreditation processes and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of hematology instruments, calibration, and quality control.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts (18-hour lab schedule).
- Experience with automated hematology analyzers (e.g., Sysmex, Beckman Coulter, etc.).
- Exposure to audits and compliance procedures in NABL-accredited labs.
- Knowledge of LIMS and digital reporting systems.
Commensurate with experience and industry standards.
