JOB TITLE: Team Lead - Rotating Equipment

Whats the role?

As a Reliability Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the Operational Availability (OA) of the site by proactively identifying threats-to-availability. You will ensure that the reliability and availability of the plants and units of the Production Units (PUs) assigned to you are actively being monitored and analysed, the threats to this reliability and availability are timely identified and assessed, and mitigating and eliminating measures are identified, developed, and implemented in a risk-based approach.

More specifically, your key accountabilities include:

  • Leading a team of reliability engineers to conduct projects related to rotating equipment.
  • Collect, analyse, and report reliability performance data of equipment and systems.
  • Provide statistical data for decision making on investments, modifications.
  • Initiate and lead or facilitate Causal Investigations or Root Cause Analyses studies on reliability incidents, and ensure follow-up actions are specified and documented, organized, and expedited, and delivering.
  • Initiate changes to existing (RCM based) maintenance plans and Equipment Care Strategies (ECSs).
  • Facilitate the process to assure that (latent) reliability threats and reliability opportunities with regard to systems and equipment are pro-actively identified, prioritized, and mitigated or eliminated.
  • Perform periodic reviews and Quality Assurance on the sites threat portfolio and monitor and ensure progress on agreed annual delivery plan.
  • Execute turnaround scope reviews to ensure the scope of turnaround events is including agreed reliability assurance and improvement tasks (pre-turnaround reviews) and observations and findings from the turnaround are assessed and captured in the sites threat portfolio database for future follow up (post-turnaround reviews).
  • Leading interdisciplinary teams to devise and implement systemic solutions for operational, technical, and technological issues impacting the availability and reliability of systems and equipment.
What we need from you

Alongside your bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering, Process/Chemical Engineering, Rotating Equipment Engineering, Aeronautics or equivalent, you will have:

  • Proven track record in the process industry (minimum 12 years) with demonstrable exposure to Rotating Equipment (minimum 7 yrs).
  • Mastery in Reliability Engineering principles, processes, practices, and applications.
  • Skilled in the design, troubleshooting, overhauling, operation of rotating engineers.
  • Proven Team Lead experience for complex rotary projects.

You must be able to work closely with individuals from all engineering disciplines, process technologists, craftsmen, and operators to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of site staff, and create a proactive defect elimination mindset across the Production Units assigned to you. This cross-functional perspective provides the opportunity to participate in almost all aspects of the plant operation.

Additionally, you are expected to be a self-starting and hands-on type of Reliability Engineer. Adequate leadership and analytical skills are required to manage, often multidisciplinary, troubleshooting, incident investigations and reliability improvement initiatives and teams. You are able to perform and deliver under (operational) pressure.
