Job Description – Sales Engineer (DG Sets)
Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer – DG Sets is responsible for promoting, marketing, and selling diesel generator sets and related power solutions to clients across industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors. The role involves technical sales, client relationship management, site visits, and coordination with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new business opportunities in assigned territory.
- Generate leads and inquiries for DG sets through cold calls, visits, and networking.
- Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals.
- Negotiate terms and close sales to achieve monthly and annual targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
- Understand client requirements and provide suitable generator solutions.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of diesel generator sets, engines, alternators, and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Target-driven and result-oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–5 years in DG set sales or related power equipment industry.
- Preferred Exposure: Experience with brands like Kirloskar, Cummins, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra Powerol, or similar.
Reporting To: Sales Manager / Regional Head – Power Solutions
CTC Range: As per experience and company standards.
