Description – Sales Engineer (Air Compressors)

Job Summary:

The Sales Engineer – Air Compressors is responsible for developing new business opportunities, promoting, and selling industrial air compressors, pneumatic systems, and related accessories. The role includes understanding customer requirements, providing technical support, preparing proposals, and achieving sales targets through effective client management and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new customers in industrial and commercial sectors.
  • Promote and sell air compressors, pneumatic tools, and accessories.
  • Generate leads through field visits, references, and digital platforms.
  • Prepare and submit techno-commercial quotations and tender documents.
  • Negotiate with clients and finalize orders to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate compressor models.
  • Coordinate with service and installation teams for project execution.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Good technical knowledge of air compressors, pneumatic systems, and accessories.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical specifications to customers.
  • Result-oriented with a proven sales track record.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in sales of industrial air compressors or related capital equipment.
  • Preferred Exposure: Experience with brands like Atlas Copco, Elgi, Ingersoll Rand, Kaeser, or similar.

Reporting To: Sales Manager / Regional Sales Head – Air Solutions

CTC Range: As per experience and company standards.
