Role & responsibilities

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.

  • Implement and manage inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Conduct physical and cycle counts, as well as regular audits to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain detailed records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and returns.

  • Coordination and Communication:

  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and manage relationships.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing, production, and sales, to meet inventory needs.

  • Communicate inventory issues and status updates to management.

  • Order Processing and Fulfillment:

  • Review and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy.

  • Handle the receiving of merchandise and fulfillment of customer orders, including picking, packaging, and shipping.

  • Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential cost savings, and areas for improvement.

  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, usage, and demand for management.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Research and develop new ways to optimize inventory management processes.

  • Implement process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Discrepancy Resolution:

  • Identify and resolve issues such as damaged shipments, product shortages, or data discrepancies.

  • Coordinate the return and replacement of damaged or incorrect products.
