This Position reports to:

Procurement Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, pricing, delivery schedules, and terms. You will ensure that all purchasing activities align with ABB's corporate procurement policies and procedures. You will also showcase your experience by identifying new suppliers in collaboration with the relevant category team.

Work Model: #LI – Onsite

This role contributes to Procurement & Logistics within the Energy Division, based in Bangalore, India.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For:

  • Initiating and managing purchase orders in SAP based on requisitions, ensuring timely delivery and supplier performance.
  • Negotiating agreements with key suppliers and periodically updating price lists and terms.
  • Recommending and executing frame agreements upon management approval.
  • Analyzing and evaluating supplier bids to determine optimal value.
  • Identifying new suppliers in collaboration with category teams.

  • Handling procurement of:

  • IT Hardware: Servers, Workstations, Network Switches, Firewalls

  • Panel Wiring & Integration: Terminal Blocks, MCBs, Wire Ducts, Power Supplies
  • Mechanical Items: Panels, Consoles, etc.
  • Managing third-party services and agreements.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation).
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing / Supply Chain Management, with extensive exposure to IT hardware products.
  • Proficient in SAP MM, MS Excel, and procurement tools.
  • Skilled in negotiation, vendor development, and stakeholder management.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
