Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Lidar Engineer based in Bengaluru. The Senior Lidar Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Lidar systems, as well as processing, modeling, and analyzing Lidar data. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy projects, ensure system accuracy, and integrate Lidar solutions into broader geographic information system (GIS) frameworks. Additional responsibilities will include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, improving system performance, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage LiDAR projects from system design to final deliverables, including DSM/DTM generation and terrain classification.
  • Design, develop, and optimize LiDAR systems and workflows for enhanced performance and accuracy.
  • Perform advanced LiDAR data processing, 3D modeling, and analysis.
  • Conduct quality checks and assurance for LiDAR and GIS deliverables.
  • Integrate LiDAR data with GIS platforms and ensure seamless data interoperability.
  • Operate and manage 3D laser scanners, mapping drones, and related geospatial equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in LiDAR and GIS domains, including leadership roles.
  • Strong experience in LiDAR system design, development, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in TerraScan, TerraModel, MicroStation (V8, V8i, PowerDraft, Connect Edition), ArcGIS, QGIS, and GlobalMapper.
  • Expertise in LiDAR classification, 3D modeling, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with 3D laser scanners, mapping drones, and mobile LiDAR systems.
  • Knowledge of GIS software and integration techniques.
  • Strong experience in LiDAR system design, development, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in TerraScan, TerraModel, MicroStation (V8, V8i, PowerDraft, Connect Edition), ArcGIS, QGIS, and GlobalMapper.
