You will be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with credit risk management, manual underwriting techniques, as well as job-specific skillsets.
To be successful in this role as a Senior Underwriter, you should possess the following skillsets:
- Prior experience in manual Underwriting in a bank or related industry.
- A general understanding of the regulatory framework that applies to lending operations and the risk function.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Regulation / Legislation Awareness - Knowledge of the Regulated Financial Services environment.
Some other highly valued skills include:
- CA or MBA (CFA/FRM added advantage).

This role is based in our Noida office.
Purpose of the role
To assess the creditworthiness of new and existing borrowers applying for unsecured lending including loans, credit cards and overdrafts and make informed decisions about approving or denying credit.
Accountabilities
- Identification and mitigation of potential risks associated with individual borrowers and the overall unsecured portfolio.
- Reviewing and analysis of financial reports, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess borrowers' financial health, repayment capacity, and potential risk.
- Applying credit scoring models, industry benchmarks, and internal guidelines to evaluate creditworthiness and determine appropriate lending terms.
- Identification of potential red flags and discrepancies in the application that may indicate fraud or credit risk.
