Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Power BI Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality business intelligence dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in data modeling, DAX, and data visualization to create insightful and high-performing solutions that meet critical business objectives and user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Dashboard & Report Development

  • Design and develop interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations and metrics.
  • Ensure reports are optimized for performance, usability, and cross-platform compatibility.

Data Modeling & ETL

  • Design and maintain robust data models within Power BI to support reporting needs.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query (M-language).
  • Connect to a variety of data sources, including on-premise and cloud databases.

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop complex DAX formulas and measures to create insightful calculations.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

Data Governance & Security

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all Power BI reports.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and other access controls as needed.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and end-users.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies to ensure project alignment and delivery.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and best practices for BI development.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay up to date with new features and best practices in Power BI.
  • Share knowledge and mentor junior team members when required.

Required Skills:

  • 5–6 years of hands-on experience in business intelligence and Power BI development.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Tools:
    Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service.
  • Data Languages:
    DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), M-language (Power Query).
  • Databases:
    SQL (for data querying), experience with MS SQL Server.
  • Proven experience in data modeling, data visualization, and ETL processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of business needs.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other BI tools like Tableau or QlikView.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse.
  • Exposure to programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and star/snowflake schemas.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, data-driven solutions.
