Job Description:

We are seeking a Cloud Migration Engineer to lead VMware workload migrations from on-premises environments to Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE). The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of VMware infrastructure, migration processes, and Google Cloud tools to ensure seamless cloud adoption with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities:


• Plan and execute the migration of VMware workloads (vCenter/ESXi) from on-prem environments or hyperscalers to Google Cloud using VMware HCX and native migration tools.

  • Perform detailed assessments of existing VMware infrastructure to identify workloads, dependencies, and migration strategies.
  • Use Google Cloud VM migration tools (GCE or GCVE) efficiently to migrate VMs with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot migration activities to resolve issues quickly and ensure data and service integrity.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and operations teams for migration validation and post-migration optimizations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed migration documentation and reports.
  • Provide recommendations on cloud best practices and help optimize workloads after migration.
  • Assist with security, compliance, and performance tuning on the Google Cloud platform post-migration.

Qualifications:


• Strong experience with VMware vCenter, ESXi, and HCX.

  • Proven knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, particularly GCVE and VM migration tools.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects involving VMware workloads.
  • Skills in troubleshooting complex infrastructure and cloud migration issues.
  • Familiarity with network, storage, and compute configurations in VMware and Google Cloud.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
