Senior Laboratory In-Charge Analytical Instruments & Soil Preparation

Location: Bangalore

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for managing laboratory operations, including maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments, preparation of soil and related samples, and supporting key experiments (e.g., cation exchange capacity, buffer saturation, soil acid digestion etc.).
  • Ensures proper functioning of equipment such as Muffle furnaces, Ball mill, Hydraulic press, Spectrophotometer, Flame photometer, etc. Maintains safety standards, compliance, and accuracy in workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
  • Manage soil/sample preparation for experimental and analytical procedures.
  • Support experimental workflows and ensure data accuracy.
  • Enforce laboratory safety protocols and compliance.
  • Supervise lab activities, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
  • Ensure proper sample receipt, labelling, storage, and organization to maintain integrity and traceability
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of experiments, maintenance logs, and sample data according to lab SOPs.
  • Train and mentor laboratory staff and users on equipment usage, safety guidelines, and experimental methods.
  • Monitor and replenish laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables as needed
Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate in Chemistry/Soil Science/Earth Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Industrial laboratory management, sample preparation (especially soil), and advanced instrument operation.
  • Proven experience with laboratory equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, laboratory safety, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
