Genset Testing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

  • To work closely with project leaders, execute the test plan at remote test locations e.g., Genset OEM, other test facilities. Travel on need basis at test location for the duration of project plan.
  • Hands-on execution of genset electrical/controls testing activities as per the DVP&R Manage test schedule, prepare test plan, prepare genset for testing by mounting appropriate sensors/instrumentation, perform tests and generate test reports.
  • To execute electrical testing activities such as governing trials, load trials, fuel consumption trials, steady state, and transient tests, etc.
  • To support control panel design, wiring harness routing, controller configuration activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide inputs based on experimental testing results.
  • Adhere to safety norms during testing activities.
  • This role requires significant amount of travel (to test facilities, Genset OEM locations, suppliers etc.)

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience Range - 4 to 8 Years
  • Diploma / Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or associated branches.
  • Good know-how about genset functioning and sub-systems.
  • Experience in testing and validation for Engine/Genset subsystems
  • Hands-on experience for test equipments handling and test set up on the product.
  • Experience in test data processing, management, and report preparation
  • Basic Engineer fundamentals for Mechanical and Electrical subsystems
  • Strong soft personal skill i.e., team player, quick learner, ability to adapt quickly & effectively etc.
