Assistant Manager – EHS Specialist

Reports To:
Production Head

Job Purpose

To ensure effective implementation of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) practices across operations, supporting the Production Head in maintaining a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Production Head in integrating EHS practices within daily operations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and systems aligned with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and drive root cause analysis with production teams.
  • Lead training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs to build a safety culture among employees and contract workers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory EHS requirements and maintain all related records/documentation.
  • Drive initiatives for waste management, pollution prevention, and energy conservation.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and government authorities for inspections and statutory clearances.
  • Prepare EHS reports, MIS, and present updates to the Production Head and management.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety, environmental regulations, and compliance.
  • Ability to influence and engage production teams for safety adoption.
  • Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Practical exposure to incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Science with Safety Certification (NEBOSH / ADIS / Industrial Safety).
  • 6–10 years of EHS experience, preferably in the manufacturing/automotive/engineering industry.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and regulatory compliance is essential.
