Job Description

Responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing databases that support CBDC platforms. The role involves administration of relational and key-value databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and compliance with financial security standards.

Database Administration
  • Install, configure, and maintain MariaDB and KeyDB instances in production and non-production environments.
  • Perform database upgrades, patching, and migration activities.
  • Manage replication, clustering, and failover for high availability.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and caching.
Data Security & Compliance
  • Apply encryption at rest and in transit for sensitive CBDC data.
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and audit logging.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and central bank security standards.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
  • Monitor database health, performance metrics, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, replication, and latency.
  • Use tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Percona Monitoring for observability.
Automation & Scripting
  • Develop scripts for automated backups, maintenance tasks, and deployments.
  • Utilize Ansible, Bash, or Python for database automation.
Integration & Support
  • Work closely with application teams to design efficient schemas and queries.
  • Support CBDC transaction systems and blockchain integration with databases.

Job Requirement

  • Strong experience in MariaDB administration (installation, tuning, replication).
  • Hands-on experience with KeyDB or similar Redis-compatible key-value stores.
  • Knowledge of SQL optimization, stored procedures, and database security.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and database deployments.
  • Understanding of CBDC architecture, distributed systems, and secure environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
