About the Project

The Viraha Project is a flagship initiative of the Indian Pravasi Movement (IPM), dedicated to supporting children of Indians detained or imprisoned abroad. These children often face trauma, educational disruption, and financial hardship. Viraha aims to provide psychosocial counseling, education continuity, family support, and long-term rehabilitation — while mobilizing community and institutional support for their welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Child-Centered Counseling & Rehabilitation

  2. Provide emotional and psychosocial support to children and families.

  3. Ensure access to education, scholarships, and mentoring.

  4. Build community support networks to reduce stigma.

  5. Family & Caregiver Support

  6. Strengthen guardianship and family resilience through counseling and linkages.

  7. Facilitate access to government schemes and welfare programs.

  8. Case Management & Documentation

  9. Maintain detailed records of beneficiaries.

  10. Prepare individualized rehabilitation and support plans.

  11. Advocacy & Institutional Networking

  12. Liaise with schools, NGOs, child welfare committees, and government bodies.

  13. Represent cases for scholarships, subsidies, and legal aid.

  14. Resource Mobilization & Sponsorship

  15. Identify and approach potential sponsors, donors, and CSR partners.

  16. Develop sponsorship models for children's education, healthcare, and rehabilitation.

  17. Organize fundraising campaigns, donor engagement events, and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: MSW/BSW, Sociology, Child Psychology, Development Studies or related field.

  • Experience:

  • 2+ years in child welfare, migrant rehabilitation, or community development.

  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor management, or sponsorship programs preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Counseling and empathy in child-centered work.

  • Networking with NGOs, CSR, and philanthropic institutions.

  • Documentation, proposal writing, and donor reporting.

Other Requirements

  • Commitment to child rights and migrant rehabilitation.

  • Willingness to travel for outreach and sponsor engagement.

  • Ability to balance grassroots social work with resource mobilization.

Remuneration

  • Salary / honorarium as per experience and IPM norms.

  • Performance-linked incentives may be offered for successful fundraising.

  • Travel and field expenses covered.
