Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager from the steel and sheet metal industry to lead and oversee our manufacturing operations. The role involves managing the production of products such as handpumps, cable trays, and solar panel structures, ensuring smooth operations, optimal resource utilization, and high-quality output. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery, and a proven ability to manage teams and operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all production activities related to handpumps, cable trays, and solar panel structures.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and timely delivery targets.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Monitor production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements for higher efficiency.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise production staff, machine operators, and technicians.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance technical and operational skills.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Machinery & Technical Oversight

  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and utilization of production machinery and tools.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.

Quality Assurance & Safety

  • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems.
  • Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with technical standards and client specifications.
  • Enforce workplace safety regulations and lead safety training programs.

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the steel and sheet metal industry.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes for sheet metal products.
  • Strong knowledge of production machinery and maintenance practices.
  • Proven team leadership and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
