We are seeking an 5+ years experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator with a strong background in database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal database performance, data integrity, and scalability across production and development environments.

Work Hours: 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST

Location: Work from Home

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.
  • Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies for query performance and indexing.
  • Manage database replication, clustering, partitioning, and failover configurations.
  • Perform regular database backups, recovery testing, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies, including user roles, permissions, and encryption.
  • Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL queries.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and ensure database environments are kept up to date.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and locking/blocking problems.
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripts or tools.
  • Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of PostgreSQL internals, configuration, and tuning.
  • Experience with tools such as pgAdmin, pgBouncer, Patroni, or repmgr.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database query optimization.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration and shell scripting.
  • Experience with backup/restore tools (e.g., pg_dump, pg_basebackup) and replication.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managed PostgreSQL services.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with high availability setups and PostgreSQL clustering.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Knowledge of other databases (MySQL, MongoDB) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50, ₹60,000.00 per month
